Trails Behind Fremont Library
7 Jackie Bernier Drive
Fremont NH 03044

This trail is behind the Fremont Library, it is an old rail road bed. If you go to the library you can either park in the parking lot (be sure to clean up after you and your horse) or there is bit of a dirt area to the left of the library when you first pull in. Across the street there is also parking, this is where the ATV riders park their vehicles to access the trails on that side of the road. ATV's are not allowed on the side behind the library. To get on the trail you go between the storage building and some trees, it runs parallel to the road. The trail is a gravel type trail, since it is on a rail road track it is pretty much straight the whole way. There are some smaller trails that break off, one of which if you cross some water takes you in a nice little loop.

It takes about an hour to get to the point where I usually turn around that is at the Tack Shack. I turn around there because you have to cross a road to another section and the next road that you would have to cross appears to be an extremely busy road and does not appear to be able to be safely crossed. You will have to cross one very quiet road to get to the Tack Shack. Then you turn around and come back. Lots of trotting and cantering.

I have not run into a lot of people on this trail, mostly other riders. I have run into a hunter who had an entire pack of Beagles that he was training. Didn't bother me at all. Occasionally I have run into a police officer on an ATV on that side out on patrol, he is always very respectful, pulls off the trail and usually turns the machine off. Remember to wave and thank him if you run into him.

During deer fly season be prepared as the area has a lot of water and they can be horrendous.

Obviously there is no camping here.
