Uxbury Town Forest

Parking is available on Mayflower St. Can fit a couple of rigs if not too many hikers and bikers there already.

Great Trails...single track and wider one as well. Great footing... Lots of hills and twists and turns on your single track (mountain bike) trails, which are not even marked on the maps. Maps available at the Kiosk. the blue trail is the most treacherous with lots of roots this trail circles the edge of the pond. and has many wooden bridges to cross. bridges are all safe , but are narrow and no side rails. would not cross them on a rainy day as they can be slippery.

Across the street is another area called Round pond.

There is no fee. No restrooms. Share the trail with lots of people walking there dogs and mountain bikers. Most are very respectful.. but respect goes both ways. the last time I was out there we came across 4 mountain bikers .. we saw them up the hill and we just called out to ask if they were coming down. We ended up chatting with them and they told us we were the most polite horse people they have come across.... as we did not holler at them to stop and get off there bikes!.

You can ride for hours here and never get bored!.. Its a really great place to condition your horse as he is always going up or down and turning on the mountain bike trails!

As far as bugs.... its around a pond so yes.. there are mosquito's!
